The WMPALA Virtual Workshop
March 25th - March 31st, 2004

Virtual Workshop montageThe Virtual Workshop provided forest restoration stakeholders an opportunity to review and discuss preliminary results of the first Western Mogollon Plateau Adaptive Landscape Assessment (WMPALA) Workshop that was held in February 2004. Recognizing your busy schedules, we are not asking for a great deal of your time. We have designed this workshop so that you can review relevant information in 15-20 minutes, and participate in on-line discussions as you have the time and interest.

For those of you who did not participate in the February workshop, please see the Introduction and Process sections of the website to familiarize yourself with the context for this virtual workshop. A short description of several common GIS tools that were used in the workshop is available in the Tools section.

For those who were able to participate in February, you will find the preliminary identification/prioritization scenarios generated by the four small groups during the workshop, and refined by ForestERA since the workshop, in the Discussion section of the website. Please review these scenarios, contribute your thoughts, and participate in discussions via the ForestERA Bulletin Board. You will recognize the Data Atlas folder as the same Data Atlas you received at the workshop. Please refer to the Data Atlas, and download foundational data layers from this site as well.

We encourage you to take the time - when you have it - to participate in this workshop. The discussions generated during the workshop should be intriguing and productive, and ensure that the WMPALA process meets the needs of stakeholders in this region.

Please contact the ForestERA team directly (or through the bulletin board) if you have any questions. We can be reached at (928) 523-8209 or at ethan.aumack@nau.edu at anytime during the workshop. Thank you and we look forward to your participation!
